The Department of Research, Development and Knowledge Transfer specializes in comprehensive activities aimed at advancing science and innovation in the field of road engineering and transportation. The team of experts conducts research and development work that includes: evaluation of scientific activity, monitoring staff achievements, preparing analyses of research quality, initiating R&D projects, and supervising their implementation. The department supports scientific publications, the development of research potential, and the creation of interdisciplinary project teams both domestically and internationally.
The unit carries out tasks related to the creation and maintenance of integrated databases for road and bridge infrastructure, investment cost analyses, road accident studies, and assessments of the socio-economic impact of investments. It conducts research on traffic safety and user behavior, as well as life-cycle analyses of pavements in the context of environmental efficiency. The department provides analytical services in GIS, statistical analysis, predictive modeling, and artificial intelligence, disseminating research results through training, expert opinions, and cooperation with stakeholders in the road and transport sector.
